The White House is supposed to be the people’s house. We know the person occupying the highest office is a Republican, but certain things about the government should remain unbiased and of course truthful. This message apparently didn’t get across to the current administration. Yesterday they changed the message on the general comment line so it sounds more like a robocall you’d hear during a divisive campaign. Now when you call the official White House comment line you get this message:
“Unfortunately, we cannot answer your call today because Congressional Democrats are holding government funding, including funding for our troops and other national security priorities hostage to an unrelated immigration debate. Due to this obstruction, the government is shut down.”
saw this going around and wanted to check for myself: here’s the message you hear today when you ring the White House comment line during the shutdown pic.twitter.com/sCquYj0XnX

In reality, the Democrats aren’t holding anything hostage and let’s also remember a handful of Republicans also voted against the spending bill.
Some people are commenting that this message is not only childish but potentially illegal.

@ACLU @ACLUTx As a member of The United States, and one of the millions who PAY the current resident of the @WhiteHouse , I believe the current message on OUR comment line is #Discrimination and intended to be #Divisive to our nation. I do NOT believe this can be legal!
