A woman who battled COVID in the hospital for eight days returned home to find her husband dead from the same disease. Lisa Steadman, of Winter Haven, Florida says her 55-year-old spouse tested positive for COVID earlier in the month, “They sent him home with medicine and stuff because he wasn’t in distress or anything. It was just like he had a bad cold.” While Steadman was in the hospital her husband was home recovering and taking care of their dogs. The 58-year-old didn’t speak with him the last couple of days before she left the hospital because she thought his phone wasn’t working. Instead, when she returned home she found him dead in bed:

“I can’t get that picture out of my mind. I wish I never would have found him like that.”

The Steadmans were both unvaccinated, “Both of us felt that it hadn’t been tested enough yet. Now after being in the hospital and talking with my doctor, when I am able to take it, I will in September.”
