Five FBI agents were shot while trying to serve a warrant in South Florida. The FBI says “two FBI agents were killed and three were wounded.” The Miami Herald calls it “the bloodiest day for the FBI in decades.”
The gunman, not yet identified by the FBI, is believed to have monitored the approach of the agents with a doorbell camera and ambushed them through the unopened door with a hail of bullets from an assault-style rifle, law enforcement sources told the Miami Herald.

It happened early Tuesday morning in the city, Sunrise. After barricading himself in the home for hours, the gunman reportedly shot and killed himself. The FBI released a statement confirming, “A team of law enforcement officers were there to execute a federal court-ordered search warrant in furtherance of a violent crimes against children case.” The case involved child pornography.
Can’t stress enough how rare it is for FBI agents to be shot and killed in the line of duty. The bureau usually overwhelms suspects with force and tries to take them by surprise. They typically plan these confrontations out meticulously.

President Joe Biden addressed the killings saying the agents “put themselves on the line. We owe them.”
Biden comments on two FBI agents killed while serving warrant in Florida: "My heart aches for the families…They put their lives on the line, and it's a hell of a price to pay." He says "vast majority" of law enforcement is "decent, honorable people" https://t.co/5AGUdHmAu5 pic.twitter.com/f9ajD8Rno7
