Donald Trump loves TV ratings but he won’t love this, viewers just weren’t all that interested in what he had to say during ABC’s Town Hall Tuesday night. The program actually was ranked number 7 for the night. Variety reports it only drew around 3.8 million total viewers.
That number put the town hall on third place overall, narrowly trailing “Big Brother” (4 million) and a new episode of “America’s Got Talent” (5.7 million).
The NBA playoff game on ESPN between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics also scored better ratings with more than 4 million people tuning in. And need proof that Fox News viewers are more loyal to the network than to the president? Two of Fox’s Primetime shows The NY Daily News writes, “Trump couldn’t even outshine his Fox News confederates Tucker Carlson or Sean Hannity, who each generated a double-digit percentage viewership edge over him on Tuesday.”
What accounts for the lack of interest at seeing Trump outside his comfort zone? Seth Meyers says “honestly I’m not seeing the value in hosting an event like this. We know what he’s going to say he’s going to repeat the same deranged lies we’ve heard a million times.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden gets his own shot at a Town Hall tonight from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Anderson Cooper will moderate the event on CNN at 8 p.m. ET.
