Someone give the president a copy of the Constitution as soon as possible. He doesn’t seem aware that the Emoluments Clause is in Article I, Section 9 of the historic document. Today, during a cabinet meeting, he was talking about the concerns raised about having the G7 at one of his resorts, when he ranted about what he called the “phony Emoluments Clause.” CNN offered a live fact check of Trump’s statement and even did a split screen with the portion of the Constitution that mentions the clause.
Trump just claimed his G-7/Doral pick was OK because Obama got a Netflix & book deal. He claimed these were negotiated while in office.
There's no proof, and CNN fact-checked in real time.
He then went on to claim the Emoluments clause is "phony." CNN put it on the screen. pic.twitter.com/lq8ifvlqRy

Let’s see if any Republicans take note of this. USA Today recently wrote: “It’s the final act in the corruption of the Republican Party. Trump stood in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue and shot the Constitution, and now he’s daring Republicans to call him on it.”
