Donald Trump’s day sure doesn’t seem to be going as planned. If you are following the timeline things moved fast today.
As news of Michael Cohen’s new guilty plea broke Trump delayed his trip to the G20 summit for a short period of time to watch the news unfold. He then came before cameras to react to the plea. It probably won’t come as a surprise to many that Trump accused Cohen of lying. He’s part of what he said.
“Michael Cohen, what he’s doing is he was convicted, I guess, you’ll have to put it into legal terms, but he was convicted with a fairly long-term sentence on things totally unrelated to the Trump Organization. Having to do with mortgages and having to do with cheating the IRS, perhaps. a lot of different things. I don’t know exactly, but he was convicted of various things unrelated to us. He was given a fairly long jail sentence and he’s a weak person and by being weak, unlike other people that you watch, he’s weak person and what he’s trying to to is get a reduced sentence. So he’s lying about a project that everybody knew about. we were very open with it. We were thinking about building a building. I guess — we decided — I decided ultimately not to do it. there would have been nothing wrong if i did do it. If I did do it, There would have been nothing wrong.”
After boarding Air Force One more news broke. His much talked about meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was abrutply canceled.
….in Argentina with President Vladimir Putin. I look forward to a meaningful Summit again as soon as this situation is resolved!

That’s one way to change the subject.
Less than an hour after President Trump said it was a "very good time" to have a meeting with Putin, he has just decided to cancel the meeting. Sounds like someone is trying to change the subject here – as he watches TV flying to Argentina?

White House tells reporters on Air Force One that @realDonaldTrump made the decision to cancel his summit with Russia's Putin on the plane after speaking with @SecPompeo, General Kelly and @AmbJohnBolton

If Ukraine was really the reason Trump canceled he would have actually taken the meeting and pressed Putin.
But since he can’t be hard on Putin (who owns him), this would have been worse than Helsinki.
Then of course there’s the Cohen bombshell.
