More troops will be stationed along the U.S. – Mexico border as early as today. At Wednesday’s White House briefing Department of Homeland Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said Trump has instructed the Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security to deploy National Guard troops to the border immediately.
While Nielsen spoke for about 30 minutes, many are pointing out some important details she didn’t address.
Info DHS Sec Nielsen does not have:
– How many National Guard troops will be deployed to border
– How long their deployment will last
– How much it will cost— Jordan Fabian (@Jordanfabian) April 4, 2018
No details from DHS Secretary Nielsen on the size, cost or duration of sending troops to the border. Also won't say directly whether this is happening bc of something Trump saw on TV. But says troops could be sent as soon as tonight
