Tiger Woods is now recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Golf Week writes:
Woods, 45, was moved to a different facility roughly 20 miles away “for continuing orthopedic care and recovery,” said Dr. Anish Mahajan, interim CEO and chief medical officer of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where Woods originally was taken to the level 1 trauma center and treated following his accident early Tuesday morning in Rolling Hills Estates, California.
The golfer suffered multiple injuries to his legs. During emergency surgery, he has a rod, screws, and pins placed in his right leg. His recovery is expected to take months. ESPN reports:
Two separate sources told ESPN on Wednesday that Woods sustained an injury to his talus bone, which connects the bottom of the lower leg to the top of the foot. The bone is a pivot point for motion. Sources say that screws were likely inserted into the area to help it heal, and if all goes well, eventually allow for normal movement.
One of the paramedics who helped with Woods’ rescue spoke with NBC News. Watch above.
