Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris today. Johnson has stayed out of politics in the past, saying this is the first time he’s put his support behind a presidential candidate. And before you dismiss this as just another celebrity endorsement, note that he has almost 200 million followers on Instagram alone. To put that in perspective, just about 138 million Americans voted in the 2016 election.
The former wrestler, a registered independent says “the most powerful way to make progress is through humanity, through decency… through equality, through kindness because kindness matters.”
Johnson released a video today showing a conversation he had with both Biden and Harris about his endorsement.
As a political independent & centrist, I’ve voted for both parties in the past. In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris.
Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS & RESPECT.
