Georgia voter had a chance to hear from all four candidates at a Sunday night. Unfortunately only three showed up as GOP Senator David Perdue declined to participate.  His Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff commented, “David Perdue can’t defend the indefensible. That’s why he’s not here today.”

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes:

Democrat Jon Ossoff had the stage to himself Sunday night, with the exception of an empty podium, as Sen. David Perdue stayed away from the Atlanta Press Club debate. After introducing Ossoff, moderator Russ Spencer introduced Perdue, with the camera focused on the blank space above the lectern.

Perdue’s colleague Senator Kelly Loeffler did show up to debate her challenger, Rev. Raphael Warnock. But she didn’t offer up much more substance than an empty podium. It was clear she memorized a few lines and repeated them over and over again regardless of the question. Her performance was widely panned as she was referred to as a “robot” and #StepfordSenator.

Meanwhile, the SuperPac MeidasTouch is out with a new video accusing Perdue and Loeffler of being Grinches by profiting off of coronavirus. It also highlights Perdue’s refusal to debate Ossoff.
