Remember when you were 14-years-old? For some of us, that was a long time ago but we still remember some of what was on our minds back then. It was probably girls, guys, and grades, maybe not in that order. It probably wasn’t fears of a gunman entering your school. CNN’s Alisyn Camerota interviewed a freshman and a senior at the high school who unfortunately had to see things yesterday that we hope our own kids will never see. They had to address issues we hope no other children ever have to confront. During their interview with CNN, these two showed such strength and offered words of wisdom way beyond their years, words we hope Congress hears. Here are a couple things they said that stood out:
“My message to lawmakers and Congress, please take action. ideas are great. ideas are wonderful and they help you get re-elected and everything. What’s more important is actual action and pertinent action that results in saving thousands of children’s lives. Please take action.”
“Any action at this point, instead of just complete stagnancy, and working together to save children’s lives is what this country needs.”
