Saturday Night Live is back after more than a month hiatus and the show jumped right back into politics. Sometimes the government shutdown has, unfortunately, felt like a game, and that’s exactly the avenue the NBC show took. Alec Baldwin was back as Donald Trump to play Deal Or No Deal with Kenan Thompson playing Steve Harvey:
SH: So we decided to do this in the only format that you can understand, a tv game show with women holding briefcases. Alright now in your briefcase here, you’ve got the deal that Congress offered you in December.
DT: And I said no deal.
SH: Yeah. nobody’s excited about that player. What was your counteroffer today?
DT: I want $5 billion for my big border wall, and in exchange, I’ll extend DACA, and I’ll release the kids from cages so they can be, you know, free-range kids.
SH: Okay. well, let’s see the members of Congress willing to offer you a new deal so this nonsense can go away.
