Susan Collins is the Senator getting the most grief over her decision to support Brett Kavanaugh. Today the Republican made the Sunday political talk show rounds trying to smooth things over, but some of her comments are sure to only add to the fury over her yes vote.
On @FaceTheNation, Sen. Susan Collins defends Brett Kavanaugh's temperament during his sexual assault allegation hearing: "His anger and his anguish, I think, are understandable… He was reacting as a human being, as a father of two young girls" https://t.co/cT4uJZGiIs pic.twitter.com/6qGCQAoXat

She also defended her decision today on CNN’s State of the Union. Here’s some of what she said:
“In this country, we have a standard of innocence and the standard I used is it more likely than not that Brett Kavanaugh assaulted Christine Ford? And there was no corroborating evidence that he did so.”
"Every survivor deserves to be heard and respected. This is a case where there is an incident that happened allegedly 36 years ago where there is no corroborating evidence," says Sen. Susan Collins of Kavanaugh allegations #CNNSOTU https://t.co/97QMHWMmnk pic.twitter.com/yjih3TAIQm

“I have to do what I think is right. And over the years, the people of Maine have trusted me to exercise her best judgment. That’s what I did in this case.”
