White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders made the TV rounds this morning to address allegations in the Mueller report that she lied. The morning anchors all pressed her as she tried to spin the incident in the report where she lied about FBI agents contacting her and saying they were happy Trump fired James Comey. CBS’s John Dickerson asked (watch above) whether Mueller was incorrect when he stated her words were “not founded on anything.” He went on to ask whether Donald Trump ever asked her to lie.
So you’re saying the president has never asked you to say anything you knew not to be true? — @JDickerson
“Correct and he’s also never asked me to break the law.” — @PressSec Sanders pic.twitter.com/BBkLrIzyyc

“That’s not a slip of the tongue Sarah, that’s a deliberate false statement.”@GStephanopoulos presses @PressSec Sarah Sanders on the culture of lying, exposed by the #MuellerReport, in the White House. https://t.co/wBBIUQ2Xfo pic.twitter.com/d5A4MOgqi1

To be caught by #Mueller lying to the American people is bad enough, but then to try and justify your lies on TV as Sarah Sanders @PressSec has just done is nothing less than disgraceful #fakenews https://t.co/eDuwHB2RBI

Meanwhile, CNN political analyst April Ryan said this all proves Sanders lacks “credibility,” “is lying to the American public.” and “needs to go.”
"Not only does she not have credibility, she lied. She out and out lied…the American people can’t trust her," says @AprilDRyan of Press Sec. Sarah Sanders.
"She should be let go. She should be fired, end of story…it’s fire me Thursday or fire me Good Friday. She needs to go." pic.twitter.com/M0whZiHg1l— Erin Burnett OutFront (@OutFrontCNN) April 19, 2019
I was among the first to say it. I will continue to say it. The U.S. deserves better than SHS. Trump will probably not fire her because members of the media have recommended it. But @PressSec – for the sake of credibility needs to go. https://t.co/PkVrHVJWWR
