Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan has had enough. Late Tuesday he lit into Republican members of Congress who oppose the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act. It’s legislation aimed at helping the American working class and specifically union workers. While it’s expected to pass the House due to a Democratic majority, most Republicans are expected to vote against it. Here’s what Ryan said:
“Heaven forbid we pass something that’s going to help the damn workers in the United States of America. Heaven forbid we tilt the balance that has been going in the wrong direction for 50 years. We talk about pensions, you complain. We talk about the minimum wage increase, you complain. We talk about giving them the right to organize, you complain. But if we were passing a tax cut here, you’d be getting in line to vote yes for it. Now stop talking about Dr. Seuss and start working with us on behalf of the American workers.”
It had to be said. Our Republican colleagues are busy talking about Dr. Seuss when they should be working with us to help the American people. pic.twitter.com/Mc7IwFlb25
