As Paul Ryan winds down his time as Speaker of the House he is addressing two issues that are front and center, the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and Donald Trump’s push for his border wall.
ON JAMAL KHASHOGGI
“We always need to stand up for our values and we always need to stand up for our interests. And when you are practicing real politic you also have to stand up for American interests and those two do not necessarily have to collide with one another.”
"With the Jamal Khashoggi case, I think it is important that we speak with moral clarity…With respect to holding people accountable, we need to do that," says Paul Ryan on whether Congress should pursue sanctions for Saudi Arabia over journalist's death. https://t.co/dSbxeliHOs pic.twitter.com/Nz4hKCoNo8

TRUMP’S BORDER WALL
“The House has the President’s $5 billion for a wall… We’ve never been the issue here. Our bill contains the President’s full request for the border.”
Speaker Paul Ryan says Democrats and President Trump need to come to an agreement to prevent a government shutdown: “I think hopefully after the election, Democrats realize a secure border should not be a Republican thing” https://t.co/a4LuJ76b7x pic.twitter.com/5tOfTy0Kng
