On Sunday night, NASA launched the Parker Solar Probe on a mission to discover the sun’s many secrets; this probe will come closer to the sun than any other previous spacecraft. Traveling at 120 miles per second, it will take the probe three months to reach the sun, where it will orbit for the next seven years. NASA scientists hope that this mission will help answer essential questions, such as why the atmosphere surrounding the star is hotter than its surface. Watch the CBS News video above.
