Senator Mitch McConnell must be dizzy because his moves are so head-spinning. Just 10 days after declaring that Donald Trump was “responsible for provoking the events” of January 6th and saying that his behavior was “unconscionable,” the Senate Minority Leader is throwing his enthusiastic support behind the 45th president.
While on Fox News Thursday McConnell was asked if he would support Trump in 2024 should he be the nominee. Not only did he say yes, but he proclaimed, “Absolutely.” He could have said “let’s wait and see what happens,” but instead, there was zero hesitation.
Mitch McConnell, Feb. 13, 2021: “Former President Trump's actions that preceded the riot were a disgraceful, disgraceful dereliction of duty. Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day."

It looks like McConnell doesn’t care that on February 16th, Trump said “Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack.” The Kentucky Senator is making it clear he puts party over country. Take a look at what MSNBC’s Brian Williams says about this “breathtaking about-face” above.
