Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell apparently has thin skin. You’d think he’d have a lot of issues to work on for the American people, but instead Monday he took to the Senate floor to make an impassioned speech defending numero uno. This came just days after The Washington Post called McConnell “a Russian asset,” saying “The Kentucky Republican is, arguably more than any other American, doing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bidding.” McConnell said the story was full of “bold-faced lies” and “shameful.” He also said the reports dubbing him “Moscow Mitch” are coming from “left-wing pundits.” But as MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell points out that is far from the truth. Watch what The Last Word host said above.
Meanwhile, Trump is also defending McConnell today. Here’s what he said.
President Trump: "Mitch McConnell is a man that knows less about Russia and Russian influence than even Donald Trump, and I know nothing." https://t.co/QfjCf69waF pic.twitter.com/7ja15qwIZc
