Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jimmy Fallon got some high-powered celebrity help to welcome Broadway back with a bang. Kristin Chenoweth, Phylicia Rashad, and Laura Benanti, Christopher Jackson (of Hamilton fame), and In the Heights stars Olga Merediz and Jimmy Smits all showed up on The Tonight Show Tuesday night to sing an ode to the Great White Way reopening. Rolling Stone points out, “After over a year of closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic, blockbuster musicals and other live shows are returning to Broadway in New York City from September 14th. Numerous shows have announced their reopenings, including  Hamilton, Wicked, and The Lion King.”
