EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt will be grilled by lawmakers later this week. CNBC reports:
“EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt reports to Capitol Hill on Thursday for a pair of hearings on his agency’s 2018 budget proposal, but the embattled Trump deputy is likely to face as many questions about his personal conduct as EPA’s spending priorities.”
Pruitt’s missteps seem to grow by the day. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough says it’s time to find someone to lead the EPA “who won’t embarrass the president and the White House daily.” He went on to say:
“If you just look at the sheer number of incidents that have been reported on this man, it seems that Scott Pruitt again just by sheer volume has to be one of the more ethically challenged, grandiose cabinet members, not only of this administration but of any administration that I remember in my lifetime. It seems like the guy’s been cutting corners and profiting off of…public service”
At the White House Press briefing Monday Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said:
“Administrator Pruitt has done a good job of implementing the president’s policies, particularly on deregulation, making the United States less energy-dependent and becoming more energy-independent. Those are good things. However, the other things certainly are something that we’re monitoring and looking at, and I’ll keep you posted.”
