President-elect Joe Biden delivered remarks today in his home state before leaving for the nation’s capital. The event dubbed “Delaware send-off” was held at Major Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III National Guard/Reserve Center, named for the Biden’s late son. Biden broke down as he said his goodbyes:
“Excuse the emotion, but when I die, Delaware will be written on my heart and the hearts of all the Bidens. We love you all. You’ve been there for us in the good and the bad…I’m proud to be a son of Delaware and I am even more proud to be standing here doing this from Major Beau Biden. Ladies and gentlemen, I only have one regret, that he’s not here because we should be introducing him as president.”
