Joe Biden’s cabinet nominations are complete. All Democrats, they include 10 men and five women. Today in Delaware he introduced Merrick Garland as his Attorney General nominee:
“You won’t work for me. You are not the president or the vice president’s lawyer. Your loyalty is not to me. It’s to the law. The Constitution. The people of this nation. To guarantee justice.”
Merrick Garland: "As everyone who watched yesterday's events in Washington now understands — if they did not understand before — the rule of law is not just a turn of phrase. It is the very foundation of our democracy." https://t.co/Fge2DDSWZV pic.twitter.com/eq5LqGOJUB

During the event, Biden also announced that he was nominating three women for top positions at the Justice Department.
Our nominees for the Justice Department will restore the independence of the Department, so it serves the interests of the people—not a presidency. They’ll rebuild public trust in the rule of law and work to ensure a more fair and equitable justice system. https://t.co/MSCRAwsmaH
