While distributing the vaccine continues to progress robustly across the country — despite various problems in states such as California and Maryland, among others — inspiring confidence in the vaccines remains a priority. And what better way to inspire confidence in the vaccine than to show four ex-Presidents getting their shot?
A new public service announcement by the U.S. Ad Council brings together former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama to remind people that, “It’s Up To You.” The end of the video shows photos of each one, as well as the former First Ladies, all getting the vaccine. It’s a quick but compelling video essay that gets its message across effectively. It also shows that former President Bush has apparently been hitting the gym during the pandemic. Check out the biceps!
You’ll notice we said there were four former Presidents who took part in the ad, even though there are five members of the ultra-exclusive Living Ex-Presidents Club. That’s because even though he desperately wants to claim credit for the vaccines, Donald Trump did not take part in the PSA. We do know he and Melania Trump have been vaccinated. They received their shots in January, and kept it quiet. There are no known photos of the Trumps getting the vaccine.

“In order to get rid of this pandemic, it’s important for our fellow citizens to get vaccinated,” says Bush. “This vaccine means hope,” adds Obama.pic.twitter.com/s2A91blRJP
