Since the Republicans, led by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, wouldn’t strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments, the Democrats forced a vote Thursday afternoon. In the end, every Democrat voted to remove her with 11 Republicans voting yes, which was more than expected.

In a powerful moment right before the vote, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer walked a sign over to the GOP side of the aisle to show Republicans a sign showing an implied threat from Greene against three Congresswomen (watch above).
“They’re not the Squad. They’re Ilhan. They’re Alexandria. And they’re Rashida. They are people. They’re our colleagues… and this is an AR-15 in the hands of Ms. Greene. This was on Facebook just a few months ago… These are clear threats to commit or incite political violence. Not from years ago, but just months ago.Â
Since @GOPLeader and House GOP Caucus are fond of saying that government should be run more like a business, I want to point out that any business would immediately fire an employee for threatening mass workplace violence. https://t.co/D1I5oN9zTa

On the other side of the aisle, McCarthy doubled down on his support for Greene.
