Today, for the first time, Donald Trump seemed to admit that Russia helped get him elected. This morning he wrote:
Russia, Russia, Russia! That’s all you heard at the beginning of this Witch Hunt Hoax…And now Russia has disappeared because I had nothing to do with Russia helping me to get elected. It was a crime that didn’t exist.
But later, he walked back the comment, telling reporters (watch above), “No, Russia did not help me get elected. You know who got me elected? I got me elected. Russia didn’t help me at all.”
The original comment, a clause in one of several Twitter posts this morning, is an extraordinary admission from Mr. Trump, who has avoided saying publicly that Russia helped him win the presidency in 2016 through its election interference. American intelligence agencies and federal prosecutors have long concluded that Russia tried to influence voters.
Donald Trump says Russia helped get him elected.
That is an admission – FINALLY – that our free and fair vote was successfully attacked by a hostile foreign power.
He has responded to that attack by cozying up to the attacker, and refusing to bolster our election defenses. pic.twitter.com/l1n3xLIMx4

Hey Republicans and conservatives, Trump says Russia helped him “get elected.” Do you disagree? And isn’t that more important than a FISA application or the Steele memos?
