Dr. Jill Biden isn’t wasting any time getting to work. Friday her first stop was at Whitman-Walker Health in Washington, DC. It’s a hospital that specializes in cancer treatment and caters to the LGBTQ community & those living with HIV/AIDS.

From there the first lady made a surprise stop outside the Capitol to visit members of the National Guard that have been protecting the area. She thanked the troops and handed out cookies (watch above).

Yesterday in her first official duty, she honored fellow teachers. Today.com reports:
Biden, who’s an English professor at Northern Virginia Community College, held a virtual meeting with educators across the country to show appreciation for their hard work amid the coronavirus pandemic and to let them know they have the support of the White House.
I couldn’t wait one more day to have this meeting, to say thank you on behalf of a grateful nation, to educators for their heroic commitment to students during this pandemic.
You’ve been so strong; and we will be strong in our support for you. pic.twitter.com/wtxJkoBNwJ
