Everytown for Gun Safety released a series of powerful ads today aimed at pressuring certain Senators to act on legislation tightening gun laws. Different ads were produced targeting Senators Mitch McConnell, Cory Gardner, Marco Rubio, and Rick Scott. There is also one in Spanish featuring Marco Rubio. The group founded by Michael Bloomberg in 2006 to advocate for gun control writes:
U.S. Senate leadership has had over 200 days to pass gun safety legislation and save lives. In just the first weekend of August, 31 people were killed in mass acts of gun violence in 24 hours, and on average 100 Americans will be shot and killed every day the Senate does not act.
Demand that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and your U.S. Senators pass background checks and a strong Red Flag law that will help prevent gun violence tragedies.
Thanks to @Everytown for putting some $$ behind ads holding Republicans accountable who won't support even the most basic steps–red flag law and background checks to address the gun violence crisis
