Of all the Super Bowl ads, we were particularly drawn to one late in the fourth quarter. It was for The Washington Post but it was really about more than the newspaper. It was about democracy, freedom and the importance of the press.
Ad time for the Super Bowl was reportedly $5 million per 30 seconds.
The Post ad was 60 seconds. Ten million bucks can buy a lot of journalism but they have an owner who can swing it. Kudos to The Washington Post for celebrating journalism, especially because it’s needed now more than ever.
Grateful for the journalists at the @washingtonpost and around the world who do the work, no matter the risk or dangers they face.#democracydiesindarkness #SuperBowlAd https://t.co/faO74lvSs5 pic.twitter.com/37PLrNLJe0
