Donald Trump did something he rarely does Thursday night, he read a teleprompter and seemed to pretty much follow a speech that someone else wrote for him. That said, it makes you wonder about a big blunder in the speech. He read a graph where he said the army took over airports during the Revolutionary war, 122 years before airplanes existed. And it has left people scratching their heads. Time magazine writes, “Of course, as many viewers noted, airports––and military airplanes––are a 20th-century invention. The first powered flight of an airplane was officially attributed to the Wright brothers, who accomplished their feat in 1903.”
"…our army manned the amports (?), it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports…"
Trump slurring and then trying to read off a TelePrompTer about the Continental Army supposedly taking over the airports in 1781 is…no words. #TrumpSpeech pic.twitter.com/83Tv6vsN8x

In addition to saying there were airports during the Revolutionary War, Trump claimed that the Fort McHenry events leading to the Star Spangled Banner occurred during the same war. It was the War of 1812
But sure, keep telling us how much you love America https://t.co/3U33vwYh9j

Huffington Post says, “The White House did not provide Trump’s complete prepared speech, so it wasn’t clear where exactly or how the goof-up occurred.”
