A major move today by one of the largest sporting goods chains in the country. Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack says the stores will stop selling assault weapons altogether and won’t sell any firearms to people under the age of 21. Stack made the announcement this morning on Good Morning America saying:

“What’s happened and looking at those kids and parents, it moved us all unimaginably and to think about the loss and the grief that those kids and those parents had, we said we need to do something and we’re taking these guns out of all of our stores permanently.”

Stack, who says he is a supporter of the 2nd amendment and a gun owner himself, adds that he is prepared for backlash, “our view was if the kids can be brave enough to organize like this we can be brave enough to take them out of here.”
