A Washington DC police officer who was attacked during the siege on Capitol Hill is calling attempts to downplay what happened on January 6th “disgraceful.” CNN writes:

Michael Fanone, who was stun-gunned several times and beaten with a flagpole during the attack, told CNN’s Don Lemon on “CNN Tonight” that “I’m not a politician. I’m not an elected official. I don’t expect anybody to give two sh*ts about my opinions. But I will say this, you know, those are lies.”
This comes after a congressional hearing was held to investigate the security failures at the U.S. Capitol. During the hearing, several members of the GOP lied about what actually happened during the siege. Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) even went so far as to say that video from the day made it appear that it was “a normal tourist visit.” Fanone reacted by saying, “Peddling that bullsh*t is an assault on every officer that fought to defend the Capitol.”  CNN adds, “Fanone suffered a heart attack and a concussion during the riot and is dealing with a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder.”
