Colorado Senator Michael Bennet is by most accounts a pretty mild mannered guy. Not today. He unleashed on Ted Cruz, the Freedom Caucus and Donald Trump on the Senate floor after Cruz defended Donald Trump’s border wall. Bennet’s frustrations are most likely because Cruz lied about who started the shutdown and who would own it (Donald Trump.) Instead Cruz said the Democrats shut down the government.

Here’s some of Bennet’s passionate response.
“”These crocodile tears that the Senator from Texas is crying for first responders are too hard for me to take… When the senator from Texas shut this government down in 2013, my state was flooded. It was under water! People were killed!”
“I’m not going to stand here and take it from somebody who shut the government down while my state was flooded or from a President who is saying he was $5b to building some antiquated medieval wall that he said Mexico would pay for it when I helped write and voted for a bill that actually would have secured the border…. this is a joke.”
Watch Bennet’s full remarks above.
I've never seen the normally mild-mannered Michael Bennet this angry. He's just ripping into the shutdown, the Freedom Caucus etc on the Senate floor.
