So far this school year, there have been 35 shootings on campuses across the nation.  Yesterday was another near Denver and near Columbine, where all this madness began 20 years ago.

So where are we?  Our schools have added another ‘R’ to their curriculum, running.  Kids and teachers are now trained in the fine art of trying to stay alive.

Which brings us to these two videos.  Above are the parents of Kendrick Castillo.  They wanted to talk about their son and how brave he was to lunge toward the attacker giving other children a chance to hide and escape.  Kendrick was three days from graduating.  He was shot and killed by the assailant.

Below is Nate Holley.  He’s 12 and a student at the STEM school and heard it all happen.
