Cindy McCain Ad May Have Reached Up To 70 Million People

Cindy McCain’s endorsement of Joe Biden wasn’t just symbolic, she is now actively campaigning for her late husband’s friend as well. In a new ad, she is highlighting a message that Biden has been pushing as well, that the former vice president can work across the aisle. That Biden is someone who wants to unite people from both sides, not divide them. Here’s part of the message she delivered, highlighting the friendship between Biden and John McCain:

“In the Senate, they disagreed on almost everything. They’d fight like hell on the floor, and then they’d go eat lunch together because they always put their friendship and their country first. Now more than ever we need a president that will put service before self. A president who will lead with courage and compassion, not ego. A president who will honor our fallen heroes.”

This ad was played at a time where millions of people from both sides of the aisle were watching.

While the ad played nationally, Democrats hope McCain’s endorsement will help bring votes to Joe Biden in her home state of Arizona.  CNN writes:

No Democratic presidential nominee has carried Arizona since Bill Clinton in 1996, but the Biden campaign has labeled the state as one in which it believes it can “expand” support as it considers multiple pathways to victory, and McCain, whose husband represented the state in the Senate for more than three decades, may carry some influence. She campaigned alongside Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris in her home state Thursday as part of the ticket’s “Soul of the Nation” bus tour in Phoenix and Tempe.
