A Trump campaign adviser under fire for his ties to Russia tried to downplay his connection to the Kremlin. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America today, Carter Page dismissed the charge that he was “recruited at one point by a Russian agent” as “sort of spin.”
Skeptical of the claim, Stephanopoulos reminded Page of something he himself had said in the past.
Stephanopoulous: “These are your words. ‘I served as an informal adviser to the staff of the Kremlin.’ You’re advising the Kremlin.”
Page: “There was a lot of people advising — we were part of an informal group.”
