In the digital age, your online footprints never go away. Combine controversial past comments with running for president and we present you with Marianne Williamson, who was confronted last night by CNN’s Anderson Cooper. Williamson has suggested clinical depression as a scam, and written social media posts where she linked anti-depressants to the death of Robin Williams and Kate Spade. Williamson was clearly uncomfortable and upset during the interview (watch above), calling it “aggressive.” She then took to Twitter to issue several replies including this one.
So let’s state it again. I’m pro medicine. I’m pro science. I’ve never told anyone not to take medicine. I’ve never fat-shamed anyone. And today there’s a new one: no I don’t support Scientology. The machinery of mischaracterization is in high gear now. Gee, did I upset someone?

Williamson also recently apologized for calling mandatory vaccinations “draconian” and “Orwellian.”
