The pressure has been on the president and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to not reduce postal service , especially during an election season that will require unprecedented mail-in voting. DeJoy has already backed away from some of his controversial moves, saying he will suspend operational changes until after the election. He is also expected to appear on Capitol Hill twice in the coming week. But that doesn’t mean this is going away. And to keep it front and center The American Civil Liberties Union launched a new television ad entitled “Let People Vote.” The organization says it “highlights President Trump and administration officials who vote by mail juxtaposed with their recent attacks on the U.S. Postal Service and mail voting.”

Ronald Newman, national political director for ACLU says:
“In an election year where voters are facing unprecedented challenges, which sadly include a president trying to suppress voter turnout, the ACLU is working round the clock to ensure voters have access to the ballot box. Our democracy works best when all eligible voters can cast their ballot — by mail, early in-person, or on Election Day — and we’ll keep fighting to preserve and expand that baseline right and protect our democracy.”
