Trump Thinking Of Staff Shakeup, Wants A “Killer”

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - JANUARY 11: U.S. President Donald Trump leads a prison reform roundtable in the Roosevelt Room at the White House, on January 11, 2018 in Washington, DC. State and local leaders joined Trump to discuss programs intended to help prisoners re-enter the workforce among other policy initiatives.

Despite all the hype and buildup, the Nunes memo was a big fat bellyflop.  So now what?  Donald Trump does what he does best and blame someone else.  He can’t fire Nunes but there are a lot of folks around him on the hot seat.  Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman is reporting today that Trump is wishing he had nominated Rudy Giuliani as Secretary of State and Chris Christie as Attorney General.  You know, tough guys, like Trump.  He’s worried his staff is soft.  Chief of Staff John Kelly is said to be on the outs.  The President wants a tough guy by his side to strategize about how to deal with Mueller & Russia.  Sherman is reporting that guy might be Jason Miller, a former communications director for the campaign who left the Trump orbit after confirming he had an extramarital affair and a child with A.J. Delgado, another Trump staffer.  A White House source told Sherman, “He wants a killer, and Jason is a killer.”  Feels more and more like the Sopranos every day.  And here’s an interesting nugget;  Sherman wants to make the midterms a fight between Trump and Nancy Pelosi, in other words, Hillary redux.  A woman against the tough guy.
