Donald Trump is on his golf course this morning. No word from him about the passing of John Lewis. It’s his 370th trip to a Trump property as president.
CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang tweeted this morning the press has asked the White House for a statement. So far, nothing.
Why no statement? Perhaps the president is holding a grudge. Donald Trump was angry that John Lewis didn’t attend his inauguration.
And Lewis also supported Trump’s impeachment.
And by Saturday morning, the slight was obviously intentional.
The only acknowledgment from the White House is from press secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s Twitter account.
Finally, the White House issued a proclamation ordering flags to be lowered to half-staff for the day. One day. Actually just the rest of Saturday.
