More than 41,000 Americans are currently hospitalized with coronavirus, and 8100 are in ICU’s according to CNN. The U.S. just recorded the highest 7-day average for new cases at over 66,000. But according to the president, the country has made “tremendous progress.”
Trump also called the surge “a fake news media conspiracy.” He falsely told supporters in Allentown, PA. “We’re rounding the turn. You know, all they want to talk about is Covid. By the way, on November 4, you won’t be hearing so much about it. ‘Covid Covid Covid Covid.’”

The Center for Systems, Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University reported there were 225,111 COVID-19 related deaths across the country as of Sunday afternoon.
By comparison, there were 291,557 American soldiers killed in battle during World War II, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The U.S. recorded its 200,00th death less than five weeks ago on September 22nd.
Meanwhile on Monday, Wall Street acted with alarm over the rise in virus cases as stocks fell early.
