As if a classified meeting between members of Congress and the Department of Justice wasn’t raising enough red flags Thursday, add this to the mix. Donald Trump’s attorney in the Russia investigation showed up as well.
“Emmet Flood, a White House lawyer handling the Russia investigation, was seen Thursday afternoon at a pair of classified meetings between members of Congress and senior Justice Department officials about the FBI’s tactics in the probe.
Flood did not stay for the entirety of either meeting, leaving shortly after they were convened. It was not immediately clear why he was present.”

What Sarah Sanders said when Emmet Flood joined: “…will be joining the White House staff to represent the president and the administration against the Russia witch hunt.” https://t.co/NiVtsOG3ei

White House chief of staff John Kelly just walked into the senate- I asked him why White House lawyer Emmet Flood was at the DOJ briefing. No response.

Breaking News: Reports are that Emmett Flood, Trump's atty, went to DOJ meeting with Republicans about informant. Not clear yet how much of the meeting he was allowed to participate in. Completely inappropriate for him being there even a minute.

GRAHAM to me: "why he (the president's lawyer – Emmet Flood) is there (in these classified briefings), I don't know. That is a bit odd. If the president's lawyer is there, I'd like to know why."

Completely inappropriate for Trump’s personal lawyer Emmett Flood to be in a classified briefing on a investigation his client is a subject of!!! This is crazy.
Imagine if Clinton’s lawyer David Kendall had done something similar??? 🤦🏽♀️ https://t.co/3zq9b8hczi— Tara Setmayer 🌻 (@TaraSetmayer) May 24, 2018
The meeting was originally made up of all Republicans, but NBC reports:
“Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, was issued an invitation to the noon ET Justice Department briefing, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters at the Capitol on Thursday.”
