It looks like speed was a major factor in the Amtrak train crash in Washington state. The NTSB says the train was going 80 mph in a 30 mph zone. Investigators still need to figure out why the train was going so fast, whether it was operator error or a technological issue. The derailment killed three people and sent a hundred more to the hospital.
