The ratings are in for night one of the GOP convention and the early numbers are disappointing for the Donald Trump Show. Reports of 15.8 million watching actually seem pretty good for what was presented. For reference, night one of the DNC convention drew 18.7 million.
Trump himself said he hoped the convention would present an uplifting and positive message. Seriously? The Washington Post called it a “festival of fear” and a “rage-fest.” Here’s a sample of the lighthearted fare from Monday night as cobbled together by The Lincoln Project.
After all that sunshine, can America stomach three more nights? The Post adds: “Four years ago, Trump pledged to end “American carnage.” Now he’s asking for another four years to put an end to all the additional American carnage he created in his first four years. The difference is his leadership has turned the dystopian America Trump pictured into more of a reality.”
