The Morning After The Raid

Welcome

The morning after the raid on Michael Cohen’s office and hotel room the analysts are making the rounds and Donald Trump goes into ALL CAPS MODE.

Not many people are echoing Trump’s opinion that it’s a witch hunt, not even some in his own party. Former NJ Governor and Trump confidant Chris Christie talked to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos about whether Trump can fire Robert Mueller and whether the U.S. attorney on this case will be fair:

“You can’t fire the special counsel. You just can’t and I think now we’re looking at the U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York who I know well, a guy from New Jersey appointed there by Attorney General Sessions, this is a good guy, Jeff Berman. He is a boy scout. He’ll do the right thing.”

Here’s a sampling of opinion for other political observers:

And we know Trump watches Fox News, but today he may not be happy with what some of their guests are saying. Constitutional Law Professor Jon Turley had this dose of reality for the President:

“It has a real threat for the President… if the President reacts aggressively he could end up triggering a far more serious problem for himself and his presidency.”
