The White House coronavirus response coordinator was willing to stay on to help the Biden administration, but Dr. Deborah Birx doesn’t appear to be welcome or needed after January 20th.

According to the AP, Birx told the website Newsy, that “she plans to retire, but is willing to first help President-elect Joe Biden’s team with its coronavirus response as needed. Birx, in an interview with the news site Newsy, did not give a specific timetable on her plans.”

Axios writes: “This experience has been a bit overwhelming. It’s been very difficult on my family,” she said, pointing to criticism she received after traveling to Delaware over the Thanksgiving holiday for what she said was the winterization of the property before a possible sale, per AP.”

Birx was also criticized for not pushing back against Donald Trump when he contradicted doctors and scientists during the pandemic. She will be remembered for the side-eye glare when Trump suggested injecting bleach might kill the virus.
