The lack of Asian Americans in key positions in the White House is causing concern among at least two Senators. AXIOS reports:

Two Democratic senators of Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage confronted a senior White House official Monday night over the absence of AAPI representation in President Biden’s Cabinet, four Senate aides familiar with the call tell Axios.

According to CNN’s Manu Raju, today Duckworth took things a step further.

Duckworth reportedly said:

“To be told that you have Kamala Harris, we are proud of her, you don’t need anybody else is insulting…That’s not something you would say to the Black caucus: That you have Kamala, we’re not going to be put any African Americans in the Cabinet, why would you say that to AAPIs?”

Late Tuesday, Hirono joined Duckworth in the protest.
