Donald Trump has had several lawyers drop him over the past week. As they say, finding good help to fight fake voter fraud is hard to come by. And apparently it’s expensive too. The president’s longtime friend and personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, long thought to work pro bono, has apparently had a change of heart. The New York Times reports that several people briefed on the matter say the former New York City mayor “asked the president’s campaign to pay him $20,000 a day for his legal work.”
A $20,000-a-day rate would have made Mr. Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who has been Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer for several years, among the most highly compensated attorneys anywhere.
The campaign didn’t agree to the $20,000 request, the person said. It couldn’t be determined whether the campaign will pay Mr. Giuliani or how much.
On Tuesday afternoon Mr. Giuliani was arguing before the U.S. district court in Williamsport, Pa., on behalf of a Trump campaign lawsuit seeking to block certification of the vote in the state.
The New York Times writes that Giuliani denies he asked for this much compensation saying, “I never asked for $20,000… The arrangement is, we’ll work it out at the end.”
