Breaking: Elliott Broidy has resigned as Deputy Finance Chairman for the Republican National Committee amid accusations that he impregnated a former Playboy model. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that in late 2017, Donald Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen agreed to pay the model $1.6 million in exchange for her silence. Both Cohen and Broidy currently are serving as deputy national finance chairmen at the RNC. From the WSJ:
“The nondisclosure agreement involving Mr. Broidy resembles an October 2016 pact in which Mr. Cohen agreed to pay $130,000 to former adult-film actress Stephanie Clifford to prevent her from publicly discussing an alleged sexual encounter with Mr. Trump in 2006, one of the people familiar with the matter said. The White House and Mr. Cohen have denied any encounter took place.”
The New York Times reports that the nondisclosure agreement involving Elliott Broidy was not known to be a subject of the investigation behind the FBI’s raid of Michael Cohen’s Manhattan office and hotel room Monday.
Broidy has resigned from RNC finance team following WSJ report that he agreed to pay $1.6M to ex-Playboy model who said he impregnated her.
