NYT: The Trump Organization & CFO Are “Indicted in Tax Investigation”

Welcome

New York prosecutors are reportedly filing charges against the Trump Organization and Donald Trump’s so-called money man. Late Wednesday The New York Times broke the news:

The specific charges against the company and its chief financial officer, Allen H. Weisselberg, were not immediately clear. The indictment was expected to be unsealed Thursday afternoon after Mr. Weisselberg and lawyers for the Trump Organization were set to appear in court.

But prosecutors in the Manhattan district attorney’s office have been examining bonuses and luxury perks that Mr. Weisselberg received — including an apartment in Manhattan, leased Mercedes-Benz cars and private school tuition for at least one of his grandchildren — and whether taxes should have been paid on those benefits.

The Washington Post adds,“Weisselberg is expected to surrender Thursday morning at the office of Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. (D), two people familiar with the plan said.

As News & Guts previously reported former President Donald Trump will not be charged this week, but investigators continue to probe his business dealings and future indictments are still on the table.
